Tim and Tamara Smola, opened the doors to their dream dance studio, Central City Dance Center, in 2002.  Since then the dance center has become one of Canton’s fastest growing dance and performing arts dance studios.  The husband and wife team pride themselves in offering the community a dance studio that is affordable, qualified, convenient, and most of all fun.  “Our commitment is to provide quality dance training, exceptional customer service, and unique performance opportunities to the community in a fun and nurturing learning environment”, explains the studio’s co-owner, Tim Smola,  “When we opened the studio our vision was to develop a dance center that would serve the needs of our community while lasting beyond our years.”

The Dance Center caters to students of all ages and skill levels in an atmosphere that makes learning enjoyable and fun.  The staff affords each student the opportunity to achieve their personal dance-related goals in a passionate, nurturing, and supportive environment by adapting and improvising to meet the needs of each individual.

A variety of classes are offered to students of all ages and skill levels.  “We are unique in that we offer a specialized preschool program that was specially designed by our teaching staff.”  Upon completion of the preschool project, the young students receive a special graduation ceremony held in their honor and receive a trophy to proudly display their accomplishments”, explains Tamara Smola.

We realize that many children enroll in dance classes simply for the pure enjoyment of dancing while others desire a more “cutting-edge” approach. That is why we have strategically developed different programs with your family in mind.

Students enrolled in Central City’s “Just for Fun” Recreational Classes may enroll in as many or as few classes as they wish. These students perform in our entertaining end-of-the-year recital. Classes are always jammed pack with excitement and fun. This program runs from September through June and requires a recital costume, dance shoes and possible costume accessories.

Central City’s award-winning Competitive Edge program is designed with the serious dancer in mind. Students in this program enroll in multiple classes per week, compete at the regional and national level, perform on Cruise Lines, at community events and in multiple shows during our end-of-year recital. Students must audition for placement during the summer.

Boys

Think dancing is just for girls? Think again!  Both Hip Hop and Break-dancing are forms of dance requiring dynamic strength and pristine athleticism. Hip Hop Dance can be seen in popular music videos, in television commercials and in the movies. Some of today's most popular athletes enroll in dance classes to increase flexibility and develop coordination and strength.

Central City Dance Center offers the opportunity for Boys to show off their moves too.  Classes in Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Modern and Ballet are offered.Boy’s Only Hip Hop Classes are available for ages 6-13.

Adults

Central City offers Adults the unique opportunity to begin or to continue their dance training in an environment that encourages them to be challenged and explore their movement potential. Adults may choose from our “Just for Fun” Recreational Classes or our award-winning Competitive Program.  Classes for Adults are offered in Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz, Modern and Ballet.

We remain leaders in our industry by making it our priority to provide our clientele with outstanding training and customer service while continuing to set new standards for others to follow.

At Central City Dance Center, we not only prepare our students for recital, but also for life’s challenges.  By “giving back” to the community our students learn valuable skills such as self-esteem, confidence, and integrity, preparing them for any career path that they choose.

We take pride knowing that we are not only contributing to the development of good dancers, but to outstanding citizens and caring people.
